Pink Stops Concert for 12-Year-Old Girl With Incredible Voice

By Colin Fredericson

A 12-year-old Vancouver girl’s dream finally came true when her idol Pink invited her to sing during the pop star’s concert in Vancouver on Saturday, May 12.

Halfway through Pink’s sold-out Rogers Arena concert, the pop superstar called on Victoria Anthony to come sing with her. The crowd went wild when she started singing Pink’s hit “Perfect.” Pink also seemed shocked at the girl’s level of talent when she found out she was only 12-years-old.

Anthony ran a social media campaign hoping to get Pink’s attention leading up to the Vancouver stop on her Beautiful Trauma World Tour. News outlets picked up on Anthony’s videos pleading with Pink to let her sing.

“Are you who I read about on the news?” Pink said after she called out to the audience and located Anthony, according to CTV News. “Do you want to come sing something?”

Anthony told CTV that she credits the idea of the campaign to her mother. She posted videos on social media of herself singing Pink songs both in her home and for an audience at school.

In a radio segment from The Jeff O’Neil Show, posted to Anthony’s YouTube channel before the concert, one of the hosts remarked that Anthony sings Pink’s songs better than Pink, and that she might embarrass Pink at the concert.

Pink reflects a similar sentiment after she actually hears Anthony sing her hit “Perfect” at the concert.

“I’m not going to sing that song now,” Pink said amidst cheers by the crowd after Anthony sang, via the extended version of the moment, posted to Anthony’s YouTube account.

Pink is in the midst of her Beautiful Trauma World Tour, which was extended into 2019, according to an announcement from Live Nation earlier this month. She is touring with her two young children and husband.

In a recent interview for Redbook she said that family is more important than touring and that she would end her tour if that’s what her kids want.
