A deer was spotted in the Pacific Ocean with sharks circling around it.
“We’re out doing the shark survey … seen a couple sharks and I’ve got a deer here off my bow that looks to be in trouble,” Pelagic Shark Research Foundation researcher Sean Van Sommeran said in the video. “I’m trying not to freak him out.”
Van Sommeran then says the deer is “a good distance from shore,” and it seems to be “swimming around in circles.”
According to the video, a nine-foot-long great white shark was near the deer.
Van Sommeran then used his “boat to help coax the deer to swim back to shore,” KSBW reported.
The video was captured in Santa Cruz, California.
