Body cam footage from New Jersey police officers shows a man being saved from a burning car.
Roselle Park police received a call on May 5 about a strange noise coming from a vehicle in the 100 block of West Lincoln Avenue. The caller said the car may have been occupied.
A second caller reported that the car was on fire.
Upon arriving, an officer smashed a window to see if anyone was inside the car. After seeing the silhouette of a man in the front seat, he and other officers tried to get him out.
They dragged out a 42-year-old man whose latest address was Everett, Washington. They said he was disoriented and unwilling to get out.
The man was not visibly injured, but was transported to Trinitas Hospital for further evaluation.
Roselle Park police think that the man may have fallen asleep with his foot on the gas pedal, causing the engine to overheat and eventually catch on fire.
