NYPD: Man Wanted in Connection with Sexual Assault in Queens Arrested in South Carolina

A man who said was wanted in connection with a critically injured woman in Queens last week has been arrested in South Carolina, police said Tuesday, May 8.

Ronald Williams, 21, was found at a motel in Columbia, South Carolina, and arrested on a probation violation, the NYPD said. He was set to be extradited back to New York.

Police believe he was the one seen in footage shortly after a 52-year-old mother, who had just dropped her son off at school in Kew Gardens, was violently attacked in the outside stairwell of an apartment complex.

Police say the mother is barely recognizable and has a broken neck after the April 30 attack. They also believe she was sexually assaulted.

She was in critical but stable condition, and police couldn’t talk to her for several days, the New York Post reports.
